Take A Seat는 살아 있는 경험이 행정적 분류 체계 안으로 들어가는 순간에 생기는 왜곡을 다룬다. 작업은 제보서, 안내문, 편지, 음성 스크립트, 전시장 오브제를 한 장면에 겹쳐 두면서, 제도가 사람의 말을 듣는 방식과 실제로는 무엇을 놓치는지를 보여 준다.

프로젝트 안의 문서들은 모두 명확한 형식을 갖추고 있지만, 그 형식은 문제를 해결하기보다 관리 가능한 항목으로 축소한다. 말은 접수되고, 검토를 기다리고, 도장이 찍히고, 아카이브 박스로 들어간다. 이 반복적 절차 속에서 감정과 맥락, 억양과 관계는 행정 문장 바깥으로 밀려난다.

관객은 읽기, 쓰기, 말하기의 지시를 따라가며 관료제를 먼 제도가 아니라 몸 가까운 감각으로 경험하게 된다. 이 작업은 무엇이 기록되고 무엇이 탈락하는지를 묻는 동시에, 분류되지 않는 목소리가 잠시 머물 수 있는 자리를 만든다.

Take A Seat deals with the distortion that occurs when lived experience enters administrative systems of classification. By layering a report form, printed instructions, a letter, a sound script, and spatial objects, the installation reveals the gap between how institutions listen and what they fail to hear.

Every document in the project appears properly formatted, yet that format reduces a problem into something merely manageable. A voice is received, asked to wait, stamped, and placed into an archive box. In that repetitive procedure, emotion, context, accent, and relation are pushed outside the sentence of administration.

Following prompts to read, write, and speak, visitors encounter bureaucracy not as a distant structure but as something bodily and immediate. The work asks what becomes recordable, what falls out of classification, and how a place might briefly be made for voices that do not fit.
